What to see in Tallinn
Tallin (in Estonio, Tallinn [ˈtɑlʲˑinˑ]) is the capital of the Republic of Estonia and Harju County. It occupies an area of 159.2 km² in which 446,055 inhabitants inhabit, which makes it the most populous city in Estonia and its main port. It is located on the north coast of the country, on the banks of the Gulf of Finland, 80 km south of Helsinki.
Tallin is the political and economic center of the State. The city houses the headquarters of the Riigikgu (Parliament of Estonia), the Presidential Palace and the Ministries. In addition, in it the stock market and the main companies of the country are based.
The city emerged as a commercial port on the Maritime Route that linked Western Europe with Russia and knew its peak as a Hanseatic city in the middle of the Middle Ages. After the restoration of Estonia's independence in 1991, Tallin has resurfaced, this time through a commitment determined by new technologies.
